Vibrating feeders are essential equipment in bulk material handling industries, used to convey all kinds of bulk solids, powders and granular materials stably and efficiently. As the core part of a vibrating feeder, the inner lining directly decides the vibrating feeder’s wear life, material sticking problem, maintenance frequency and overall running cost. Among all common lining materials for vibrating feeders, polyurethane (PU) and PTFE are the two most popular choices for industrial vibrating feeders, widely applied in mining, chemical, building materials and environmental protection industries.

Wear-resistant polyurethane lining for vibrating feeder, excellent impact resistance and long service life for mining and bulk material handling
Many plant managers, mechanical engineers and procurement personnel who are looking for high-quality vibrating feeders often get confused: which lining material is more suitable for their own vibrating feeder, material and working condition? Below we share practical experience based on real on-site application of vibrating feeders, helping you make the right choice.
Polyurethane (PU) Lining for Vibrating Feeder
Polyurethane lining is widely adopted on industrial vibrating feeders, electromagnetic vibrating feeders and custom vibrating feeders for its outstanding wear resistance. It has good toughness and strong impact resistance, performing very well when a vibrating feeder is handling abrasive materials like mineral ore, quartz sand, cement clinker and coarse granules.
Industrial vibrating feeder equipped with PU inner coating, effectively reducing abrasion and extending equipment running time
When applied to a vibrating feeder, PU lining bonds firmly to the feeder’s inner plate, not easy to peel off under continuous vibration of the vibrating feeder. The cost is moderate, and the service life of the vibrating feeder with PU lining is much longer than that of ordinary rubber lining, effectively reducing the maintenance cost of the vibrating feeder.
The limitation of PU lining for vibrating feeders is temperature resistance. It is not ideal for vibrating feeders handling high-temperature materials, and the anti-sticking effect is average for vibrating feeders conveying fine, moist and sticky powders.

PTFE lining for vibrating feeder, good anti-sticking and corrosion resistance for fine powder and wet materials
Its weakness is poor impact resistance, so it is not suitable for vibrating feeders that handle heavy, sharp and large particle materials with strong impact. Compared with PU lining, the overall cost of PTFE lining for vibrating feeders is higher.

If your vibrating feeder mainly handles mineral, ore, sand, coarse granules with strong abrasion and impact, polyurethane lining is the more reliable and economical option for your vibrating feeder, which can extend the service life of the vibrating feeder and reduce maintenance.
If your vibrating feeder is dealing with
fine powder, wet sticky material, chemical materials and is prone to
blockage, PTFE lining is more practical for your vibrating
feeder, ensuring stable feeding of the vibrating feeder and reducing manual
cleaning.
VRV specializes in customizing high-quality
vibrating feeders, including electromagnetic vibrating feeders, and can equip
your vibrating feeder with PU lining, PTFE lining according to your material
property, temperature and on-site working conditions. VRV can also provide
targeted lining replacement solution for your existing vibrating feeder,
helping you improve the performance of your vibrating feeder and reduce
operation costs.
